Is AgVocating for you?!?!?!?!?!

I recently had the privilege of attending the Arkansas Women in Ag conference in North Little Rock and came home with newly acquired knowledge on a variety of topics along with a renewed feeling for the need to AgVocate. Some of you may be wondering what it means to AgVocate..... and as the guest speaker of the conference, Carrie Mess, A.K.A.  Dairy Carrie put it so simply-- it is "Telling your Story" or Advocating for Agriculture.

Carrie truly is an AgVocate for this amazing industry and her whole presentation was to educate all of us on how to educate society and our consumers on OUR practices, OUR processes and OUR stories.... because---If we do not, someone else will.

Ok, so now you are wondering just who that 'someone else' is. This my friends is where things get scary, where we start to see just why those of us in this industry need to learn how to and find our own way to communicate to our consumers. The 'someone else' is typically those people who do not understand our way of life, do not live our way of life and who more than likely think our way of life needs to be dealt with and abolished.

For those of us in the industry we are very aware of who this 'someone else' is... The first two organizations that will pop into our minds are HSUS (Human Society of the United States) and PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals)..... For those of you unfamiliar with the actual motivation and purpose of these organizations, please do your research. While they advertise their "Love" for 4-legged furry critters---most will be pleasantly surprised that it is a far cry from the "Love" most farmers and ranchers will show for their 4-legged furry critters and their way of life. The "Love" these two groups (and many others like them) portray is nothing more than their way to get YOUR money..... and NO!!!  YOUR money donated to organizations like HSUS will not go to your LOCAL Humane Society.

Back to the conference: After listening to Carrie, along with other presenters (I will be highlighting some of these presentations and speakers in the days to come) through the two day conference... I left that Friday afternoon asking myself just how I was going to tell our story so that the generations after us could carry on in our footsteps and continue to Build a Legacy in our family name.

So here I am today... writing this blog post trying to find my voice in a small knit Agriculture Industry trying to educate and feed an ever growing world population, sharing via social media outlets, Facebook , Twitter and Instragram-- fun but educational blurps from our life with a small commercial cow/calf herd AND AgVocating as a new member of our Team BEEF Arkansas.

Now tell me---
What is your story? Do you raise crops? Cows? Horses? Sheep? Hogs? Chicken? Timber? Participate in a Farmers Market?  Just enjoy the scenery and serenity of living in the country? Enjoy eating a big juicy steak? What about a homemade breakfast wtih a cold glass of milk, bacon, sauage and eggs?

AND

How are you telling it? Blogging? Sharing via social media? Member of Team BEEF? Member of a local organization (Cattlemen, Women in Ag, Farm Bureau, etc)? Talking to consumers at the grocery store?

Don't forget...........if you are talking to someone, anyone, about YOUR industry and YOUR agricultural lifestyle--you are an AgVocate!!!

Hmmmm...

A New Year...and it has started, I've seen all the resolutions and comments about resolutions and all that comes with a New Year. As I stated last year at this time....(can you believe I've had this darn blog for a year??) I am resolving to not have a resolution...kinda....sorta.....ok, so you decide...
My kinda, sorta, semi-resolution is about my blog and is this: Should I stay or should I go?!?!?!?!?!?

I enjoy rambling and sharing with y'al but I've been horrible at it for oh, about the last 6 months..which isn't good considering, as stated above, I've only been blogging for about a year.... :) I think I'm the same way with staying in contact with people at times...YES,please insert a sad face here.

So here's what I'm thinking....I NEED to know if y'all are still out there reading!! If so, and please don't make me beg like I've done so many times before...hahahaha......let me know you're there. Leave a comment, letting me know that you'll die without my blog and that you're going to start sharing it with every random stranger you come in contact with. AND then that you will beg those strangers and your friends to read and share with their friends!! That's how it works...keep on passing it on!

Ok, so I'm not just writing this blog for y'all to listen to me ramble..I"m writing it just as much so I'm not the only one listening to me ramble....and lookin' like a crazy lady having all these conversation by myself...There---I said it, I'm a crazy rambling lady!!

So let me know below in the comment section.........Should I stay or should I go?!?!?!?!?!?

p.s. Hope y'all had a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy Happy New Year!!

Maybe next time

Well...I hate to break it to y'all BUT no big horns over the weekend.....not even one without horns.....It was a fun weekend with the hubby but my1st deer (hopefully with big horns) will have to wait a few more weeks.

I guess I will have to admit one thing to y'all......................I did take a shot at one but it was a miss....big bust!! I guess the excitement and nerves got me......BUT they won't next time :) :)

On the homefront I'm in the process of painting the kitchen. Which is a project I started a week ago last friday. So my kitchen now has light brown/tan walls compared to the weird lime green that was there, but only about half the cabinet doors are up. The other half have one coat of paint on one side. SO I guess my evenings this week will be filled with removing cabinet doors and hardware, sanding and painting.....wish me luck.....and my husband patience because I think he's ready to have our kitchen back to normal.

crafty, crafty

The creative juices are flowing today! Well....maybe....I've been trying to write this blog post for about half an hour and I'm not getting too far. SO........in honor of the fact that:
1. I completed an actual craft project this evening
2. I can't get my brain to function well enough to write

I'm going to keep this post simple....if I can do simple.. :)

First off, I want you to check out one of my favorite blogs: The Lettered Cottage.  Layla blogged today about Pinterest and a craft project she took on in honor of their Craft Challenge. Layla's craft project was inspired by  Brooke's post over at www.pureandnoble.blogspot.com

Well I've been in need of something not too tall, cute, and bright yellow for the windowsill above our kitchen sink.......and well......I saw Layla's blog today and BAM!!!!!!!!!!!! My not too tall, cute and bright yellow something was forming in my imagination....Now, if you checked out the above blogs you already know where I'm going with this...BUT since most of you probably didn't, let me share with you my craft project from this evening.....

Supplies needed: hot glue gun, jars, primer, spray paint

I started with this: (if you look close enough, you can see that the hot glue gun was already used on some of the jars)

Next came the primer

Then the paint (followed by a coat of clear gloss) and you have the final product!!!!!!!

My hot glue gun skills could use
some work but the end product doesn't look too shabby......

Here's  a sneak peek at the windowsill now........

Let me know what you think...OR fun projects you've been doing!!

Finally!!!!!!

After the past few weeks/months of constant, go.....go.....go.....go.....  My husband and I have recently had the chance to watch a few new movies!!! Before you get too excited they weren't any that I was hoping for in a previous post BUT....they were good!!

One of them was the 4th in the Fast and Furious series............we have been wanting to see this one so we
could watch the newest one..Fast Five...

The 4th one...Fast and Furious....well...it...had....... me....HOOKED....within the first 5 minutes!! I'm sad that we didn't see this one as soon as it came out....we have been missing out on one good movie...of course.. as soon as the credits started rolling..I was on my blackberry googling when the fifth one would be out on DVD............and then I got sad......really sad.......because now we have to wait a little bit longer to see it....

So if you're looking for a good movie..and one that will keep you on the edge of your seat......watch Fast and Furious (of course it'll help if you watch the first 3 before)........................

I'm still here.............

Well I haven't fallen off the face of the earth but....I do feel like we've been to the end of the earth and back a few dozen times in the last couple of months! What a life of wonderfully amazing chaos it has been :)

Hope you haven't missed me too much but I do hope you missed me just a little bit!! Life has been good and crazy for my husband and I lately and are so fortunate to be blessed with such amazing friends and family. They have all been there to help us and to celebrate with us. I hope you all know how much  you mean to us and how much WE LOVE YOU!!

Schedules in our world have a little more routine now (I think, or at least I hope) so you'll be getting more of my randomness a little more frequently now! Thanks for sticking around and don't forget to share my randomness with your friends :) :)

.....oh yeah....that.....

Well for those of you that don't know me very well....i am a....PROCRASTINATOR!!! Yes, I said it! I procrastinate......I try my hardest not to, but there are some days that it gets the best of me...I recently told a friend that it wouldn't be so bad except.....I married a procrastinator!! So I don't think he's near as bad as I am..but when you get two procrastinators together, and well...they procrastinate......it's never good......

As I speak I am doing oh I don't know.....the start of about 17 loads of laundry!! If you're a smart person you're asking how in the world I have 17 loads of laundry...well I'm going to be completely honest....besides the fact that I went on a laundry strike (I didn't realize I had gone on strike until the dirty laundry started over taking my laundry room) and well the fact that 99% of my husbands clothes go to the cleaners, and we have no kids....I still don't really have an answer to this simple question!!

I can state that for about the last 4 days I've done nothing but wash loads of bedsheets and towels....the hubby came down with poison ivy (thank goodness I'm not allergic to it), and so towels and bedsheets have been a daily routine lately.....can I blame my non-laundry doing days on that???????

Oh well now that I've got all that said let me get back to my beginning point....I've been procrastinating on getting any book/movie reviews up here. I've read a couple good books lately and movies are always on our to do list..so I ask myself "where are the reviews?"......answer-I'm a procastinator....

Second half to that answer.....who likes doing book reports???? I mean, really??? As I was reprimanding myself the other day for slacking on not putting one on here I thought, why in the world did I want to start reviews on my blog???? I remember back in school how I loved to read a good book but HATED to do a report on it... and now here I am, years and years and years later writing a blog that I myself have COMPLETE AND UTTER CONTROL OVER and I choose to write random book reports!!!!

I believe I may have officially lost what marbles I have left.......okay, so I am going to start a section with movies and books I've recently watched or read. I also promise to give you some reviews of them but I also promise they will be nothing like your typical book report!!!! I just can't do......even if I tried, it wouldn't happen...remember???? I'm a procrastinator...!!

p.s. experienced my 1st turkey hunting experience this weekend

p.s.s. hubby also bought me my own shotgun..

p.s.s.s. i'm very proud of my shotgun....it was a very long process in finding one for me

p.s.s.s.s. most gun companies don't make left handed shotguns

p.s.s.s.s.s i'm left handed

p.s.s.s.s.s.s more on the turkey hunting and shotgun later.....maybe............

Is it that time yet????..........

Oh my.....has spring finally arrived??? I'm hoping that it has!! The weather has been pretty consistent and the thunderstorms have been rolling through. I do believe the thunderstorms are one of my favorite things about spring time.

I can say that the mornings around here have been rather chilly lately but the afternoons have been amazing!!! Part of this is due to the fact that the wind has actually been blowing here. You see, 90 degrees is so much easier to handle when the wind is blowing... add almost 100% humidity in the summer time and I promise you'll be jumping for joy when the wind is barely blowing and even more so when it blows 100 mph!!!  It didn't take me too long after moving here to realize that- the wind NEVER blows...okay, so never say never, right??? It does blow here but it's not very often and when it does no one knows what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It feels like Spring has Sprung here and I couldn't be more excited! Did I mention how much I  like the smell of fresh cut grass???? Or evenings spent grilling out?? Or just sitting out on the porch in the evenings??? I could go on forever about all the things that make me love Spring time!!! What is it that you love about Spring time???????

Hope you're all enjoying the weather!!!! :) :) :) :)

Ohhhhh...............life has seemed so busy the last couple of days. I was able to squeeze in some time with my camera and thought I'd share with you a couple of my favorite picks from the last 2 weeks :)

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reviews????.......................................

I think I'll be adding some book and movie reviews on here every great once in a while. I've always been a reader and a fast one at that. Once I start a book ( a good one) I can't put it down. I have to finish it!!

I've never been one to read much in winter, I usually do all my reading in the summertime. I know it seems a little backwards (which is normal for me) BUT.... while I was in high school and college wintertime was textbook time. So when summer would roll around I'd make my many, many trips to the library, always coming back with an armload of books. I would find an author I liked (would usually turn into an addiction) and read every book the library had.

My mom and I have the same taste in books so we're always comparing authors and sharing what books we like. I will read just about anything as long as it's written well and follows a story line. I don't do well with books written like a history book or a biography. My husband laughs at this but I recently tried to read a book that I bought him which reads like a history book/biography and ten pages in and I don't recall one thing I've read.  It was like history all over again.....Can't keep my attention........Feel like I'm in school again.................When's the test?

Whew...glad I got that out of my system. AND I have officially put that book up!

On a trip to visit my Dad a few years ago, he got me hooked on a series of Western books. He let me borrow some he had finished and I think I had 1 done before my (short) plane ride home was even over!!! A few short weeks later he called to tell me of a new one he had read and....... I had to confess that I had already read it and all the other ones I could get my scrawny little hands on at the library. I was officially addicted to them!!!

Okay...you're probably wondering if I have a point....and I do.....my randomness sometimes does have a point (although more often than not it doesn't)...... Point is-----I haven't been reading much (not even last summer) (of course that was because I was planning a wedding and a honeymoon).....and....... I MISS READING!!! Well, I have read a few good books lately and am currently half way through another one.

I'm thinking if I do periodic book (and movie) reviews on here it might give me the motivation to:
1. go to the library (I'm not a big fan of buying books!) (I can't ready one more than once)
2. get a library card
3. check out some books and read!!!!

One more confession- I have actually bought 3 books since Christmas....that might bring the total number of books I've ever bought in my life into the double digits.....libraries are so much better for books...they're free....but I do have a full book case in my house....even if I'll never touch those books again....until it's time to move....then I'll be mad we didn't just use the library more...  :)

p.s. I can't deicded which book/movie to start with!! Help!!!

p.s.s. if you have a good movie or book recommendation pass it to me!!!

I'm a country girl........................

I was blessed this past weekend with the opportunity to attend the Arkansas Women in Agriculture Conference. It was an amazing weekend and I met many, many amazing women from the state that are involved in the very industry I spend my whole life in!!!!

We sat through different sessions to learn stuff ranging from cattle handling, to the First Bloom in Fort Smith, to wind and solar energy, to learning to take time for yourself, to saving money by couponing, to peanut production in Arkansas, and BLOGGING!!! (I'd have to get out my agenda to actually list all the sessions that were available to us)

What an array of information they provided to all of us! Not to mention the awesome Arkansas food and wine tasting we had.

Since this is a blog and well, I was able to attend a blogging session I want to pass on some information to you. I was actually fortunate enough to meet two fellow bloggers from Arkansas who were guest speaking. So today, I want to give you their blog sites. If you have a moment to check them out, do so now!!! They were amazing speakers full of energy, life and wisdom!!!!

The Park Wife and Instead of the Dishes

I would recommend this Conference to any of you woman out there involved in Agriculture in any way!! It was a great way to meet other people who completely, without a doubt understand the way of Life in the Country.

Check out http://www.arkansaswomeninag.com/ to learn more about the organization and ways you can join and become involved!!!!

Love is what I do.................

Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand. - Mother Teresa

Love is an amazingly wonderful gift!! I believe everyone has a much better outlook on life and a happier spirit when Love is present in their life. It comes in so many shapes, sizes, dimensions and colors! You can have love for people and things, jobs and hobbies, animals and causes. The places to put your love and to find love are abundant....................

I love ...........my husband, my family, our dogs, my fat Garfield cat, summer, spring, cookies, the color pink, thunderstorms, wearing sweatpants, cowboy boots, riding horses, reading a good book, going for a run, swimming, pizza, enchiladas, shrimp, cheese.....oh my gosh! the list is never ending.................

Did you notice all the food I mentioned??? It might have been easier to just write... I love food....The end...but that isn't near as much fun..........So, on I ramble.................

I love to wear make-up (good makeup) (I sell makeup, need some???) BUT I also like to not wear makeup around the house. It's scary-I promise!! --but my husband loves me anyway.

I love to go to bed with my hair wet. Of course by morning I look like Medusa with my crazy hair --but my husband loves me anyway.

I love to pester my husband in the morning while he's trying to sleep--but he loves me anyway.

I love to eat candy like a little kid (and my hips and thighs show it!!)-- but my husband loves me anyway.

I love to take pictures of buzzards (please don't ask)-- but my husband loves me anyway.

And I love him all the more for loving my randomness, my quirkiness, and my weirdness. Of course that's what makes me, me......but still...He loves me anyway.....................

Oh the wisdom....................

Well......I finally write a blog about something half way serious and what do I do? Cause my Mom to laugh hysterically at my spelling mistakes....................okay so she did it in a completely respectful manner (unless of course you count the phone call she put in to my sister).....

My mom caught a spelling error in my post from yesterday. She caught it this morning and needless to say couldn't quit laughing long enough to call and politely tell me about it. Yes, she did it out of respect for me, she was afraid she would hurt my feelings... BUT I too found it funny and ironic and we had a very good laugh about it. Of course it wasn't HER 1st laugh of the day about it or her 2nd......I won't tell you how many times she actually chose to re-read my mistake!!! I am glad that it gave her a good chuckle for the day AND that she finally called my attention to it.

Oh the irony in making a spelling mistake when you're discussing homeschooling and pubLic schooling!! For those of you who caught the mistake and didn't say anything...SHAME ON YOU!!! But, I hope you got a good chuckle out of it. For those of you who didn't catch it, you missed the chance for a very good laugh!!!

I think I'll leave this post with a quote that seemingly fits the situation and life in general!!!

"You grow up the day you have your first real laugh......at yourself" - Ethel Barrymore

Just a thought......................

So I'm putting the cart before the horse here, actually way before the horse, but...........such is life sometimes :)

Before I started this blog and especially since starting this blog I have and still do browse any other blogs. They're fun to read, learn from, etc. In browsing other blogs I've come to realize that in this day and age there are lots of Homeschooling Moms and well, kids too......

This is where the cart comes before the horse.......We don't have kids yet so I'm not real sure why this seems to be on my mind and pop out to me when I read a new blog....baby fever??? maybe, but I'm not real sure that the topic of homeschooling your unconceived, unborn children is a symptom of baby fever BUT hey, you never know.....Anywho, back to my point....

Homeschooling has become the schooling option of choice in many areas and is far more widespread than I thought.  Not that I have done any kind of real research on the topic! Most of us are brought up in a society where you send your kids to school, either private or public. Off they go as soon as they are old enough. Now I'm thinking (scary, I know) and wondering why are we all conditoned to send kids to school? Do we consider the other option of homeschooling? Are these homeschooling families seeing, experiencing, benefiting in ways unknown to us????

I know, many of you are saying...uh well, I work full time, my husband works full time, so off the kids go to catch the bus. But, WAIT.......I've read many, many comments about kids being homeschooled by parents who both work full time jobs. Somehow they seem to make it work to fit their schedule and their life. I was a little shocked to see that this could be done but kudos to those parents!!!

I've recently started doing some tutoring lessons (although my sister seems to think I'd be a bad teacher). The subject that we are working on for now is Algebra. So trying to be prepared I used my handy dandy computer (I AM the Queen of Google) to try to re-familiarize myself with High School Algebra......(as I was having flash backs of my High School trig teacher getting onto me for always finding something to do or talk about that was unrelated to trig.....I do believe I was possibly one of his most annoying students...but I DID NOT like trig...I think I reminded him of this daily)

Back to my algebra research----I found some good websites with great information and examples (although I was not near as prepared as I thought I was). THEN I came across one of those, you ask a question to people in cyber world (still not real sure how you do this, but I'm glad other people have figured it out) and wait for some of those people in cyber world to respond either with answers, tips, advice, or opinions.

Well ironically enough the question I happened upon had to do with algebra problems (told you I was the Google Queen) and somewhere in the original question or in a comment posted by the question asker was this statement- "I am homeschooled and am having to teach myself this."
WOW!!!! Yes, I'm pretty sure WOW, was my initial reaction!!!

I do believe this comment is what really got my brain turning on this subject. The blogs I read show families, moms, dads, kids, all blooming and thriving in this homeschooling atmosphere. They share lesson plans, and activites, stories of ups and downs, and how they make this part of their life work. And then there are a select few homeschooling kids who are withering because they are having to teach themselves, because someone has decided to not do what is best for these children.

I know this is a touchy subject and one that should be approached carefully and with lots of thought. I don't want any of you to think that I stand on one side or the other, it's just something I've been thinking about and wanted to put out there.

Now.....I know there are a few of you out there that read this here blog pretty faithfully (Mom!) so give me your thoughts and opinions on this. DON'T BE SHY!!!!!!!!!!!! Leave a comment (please don't make me beg)....

Which would be better for your life? Your family? Have you ever considered home-schooling? Do you know someone who does homeschool?

Let me have it, I want to hear what YOU think!!!!!!

p.s. Invite your friends over to this here blog...let them read...let them comment...let them become faithful followers... :)

p.s.s. you know you want to...JUST DO IT....okay so this isn't an ad for Nike but it fit........it is an ad for Faith, Love and Cattle though...tell your friends about me....let them listen to me ramble...it just might make them smile to know there is some one out there more random and weird than they are....................

Cypress Knees..........hmmmmm........

I wanted to share some more quotes with you guys today since it's been a while since I've posted any. BUT..... before I do, I want to share a few pictures first. I forgot to post these with my pictures from our Dixie trip. I'm not sure how I forgot seeing as how these are probably my favorite ones.....

For those of you who don't know, these are Cypress Trees and the divided/separated portions just above the water line are called Cypress Knees. I have to admit---- I LOVE cypress kness! II was so amazed when I 1st saw these things. We have cypress where I live but you can't really see the knees on them. So when we travel south, to Dixie, the Delta, the swamps- whatever you wanna call it- I am blessed to get to see these amazing knees!! (yes, I'm kinda weird and probably the only person who thinks these things are cool)...

I think they are so amazing although I'm not quite sure why yet. I think it's because they are so unqiue. AND I'm weird like that....Anyhow, I made the hubby pull over on our way home so I could get some pictures of them and wanted to share. Hope you enjoy them! It's the simple things that entertain me! :)

So, now back to the quotes.....

"It takes about five years for a walnut tree to produce nuts, but this is not true of a family tree"

"My father never raised his hand to any one of his children-except in self-defense" - Fred Allen

"Adults are just children who earn money"- Kenneth Branagh

"Most of the men sitting in first class on an airplane have really boring jobs" - Rita Rudner

"Downsizing means you're about to become the guest of honor at a going-away party."

"I don't like the fact that doctors are referred to as practicing" - Janet Schwartz

Fill in the __________________________

I've wrote before about advice/tips I've read by Pioneer Woman about blogging. They are tips that are easy and simple for a beginner AND so non-confusing.

There is one that still makes me laugh when I think about taking it 100% serious and follow it...........it's the advice of "writing as if you're talking to your sister". Ok so, I have a sister and this should be fairly easy for me to follow. BUT if you've eer met my sister or caught just the slightest bit of a conversation between us you would see and understand where the humor comes in. Yes, I'm still laughing as I write this.

My sister: she's funny, witty, smart-alecky (is that a word?), blunt and most the time we talk about "inappropriate, gross, no-one else wants to hear about" topics. Even my husband has stopped asking for the most part what it is we were talking or texting about. He simply just doesn't want to know, or if he does ask, he immediately regrets when I answer.................

Now don't get me wrong we have intelligent conversations as well and we're a blast to hang out with. Right Mom?? Unless of course we're in public then its more of a scene we're causing and probably embarassing at least one other member of the family (sorry Mom, we know it's usually you....BUT it's because we love you sooo much!!)

Back to my point-----I was reminded of this advice from Pioneer Woman the other morning as my sister and husband carried on a conversation via text messaging...Their conversations can get just as crazy but they are so entertaining to me. I think it's because my husband is amazed at how witty, and smart and funny and well just how she is.....You can't help but love her.....

So as I've decided it best for you, me and this blog not to write like I'm talking to my sister, I thought I'd give you some keywords in most of our more frequent conversations.

Peanut butter                   alcoholics               armpit                 clown              naked                poop

cheetos             Russia             dreams                 drinking           flip-flops           stain          hair

                                               constipation            bitchslap         tattoos

Now I'm thinking I should have just started with a fill in the blank for you. I guess my challenge to you could be to use your imagination and form a conversation using only the above words.........and remember to keep it kid friendly...... :)

p.s. gotta go call my sister now...........

p.s.s. I think my challenge should be to have a conversation with said sister without using ANY of the above words....

p.s.s.s. I'll let you know if that EVER happens!!

To write or not to write................

After starting this blog, I started doing some research on the Do's and Don'ts of blogging. Let me just tell you, this was a tiring project as I read many contradicting articles, tips, advice, etc.

I found humor in one in particular that stated to not write about your boyfriend, cat, or kids. The humorous part was just a few lines down where it stated to write about your kids... HEEELLLOOOOOO, this is just a little confusing for a beginner.......do I, or don't I.....that began to be the question..............

Then I took a deep breath and started breaking down both bits of advice. I decided to start with the first bit of advice. And decided pretty quickly it was one I could handle because, well my boyfriend is my husband and as long as I refer to him as such then I'm technically writing about my husband. Whew.... got that one out of the way. BUT still I was a little concerned about the 'don't write about your kids' then 'write about your kids' part. So confusing, contradicting and well, wait a minute I don't have kids.  So naturally that one is taken care of. That is until we do have kids......Oh well, we'll save that confusing debate for later.

So I was left with the cat part. Now neither my husband or myself are cat people. Never have been and probably never will be. I have learned every once in a while though you will stumble upon a cat that you will fall in love with! As you've probably guessed by now, we do own a cat. Or rather, he may own us...........

He is a very large, orange, garfield cat. He answers to Pistol, Pistol Pete, here kitty kitty, and Hey Fat Cat. Oh, and any type of food you're willing to give him. Oh yes, he LOVES food....We both love this cat, for many different and crazy  reasons. So, I'm going to break the don't write about your cat advice and I'm going to let you meet and learn a little about my fat cat.

Although his story, likes, and dislikes will have to wait for another day as I hear him clawing the front door down now (yes, he truly does claw at the front door)... Must be supper time........So here's a sneak peek at my favorite feline........

I love you fat cat!!

p.s. I think I'll quit my research for now. I'm not sure it was helping much and it caused way too much thinking to take place.
